Cascadia Wild
Inspiring Personal Connection to Community and the Natural World

The Wolverine Tracking Project is a community science project collecting data on rare carnivores in Mt Hood National Forest. With trail cams and tracking surveys, volunteers contribute to the knowledge and management of our native forest wildlife.

What We Do

Strap on some snowshoes and help document bobcats, cougars, deer, elk, hare and squirrels and everything in between. Join us as we search for rare carnivores like the Sierra Nevada red fox, gray wolf, Pacific marten, and  if we are lucky  wolverine! Volunteers help maintain trail cameras, participate in snow tracking surveys, and collect genetic samples. We provide equipment and training, and all are welcome. Join the Wolverine Tracking Project's Tracking Team or Camera Crew and help tell the story of our forest wildlife this winter.

Opportunities

The mission of Cascadia Wild is to connect people of all ages with the natural world. Through our community science project, our goal is not only to inform research and management but to also offer stewardship opportunities for serving the wildlife, forests, and land of the Pacific Northwest. By providing a space where people can learn about and help protect the abundant life with whom we share the forest, we seek to instill a sense of belonging to a place and a recognition of the responsibility that comes with that, to inspire stewardship in the actions of everyday life.
