The Standard Receives Award From Transition Projects
The organization benefitted from generous donations during the Employee Giving Campaign.
Transition Projects honored The Standard at the nonprofit’s annual Impact Gala on April 8. The company received the Setting the Standard Award for its role in helping advance the organization’s mission through donations pledged during the Employee Giving Campaign. In 2020, Transition Projects was one the company’s Denim Impact Fund partners. DIF pools donations from employees — which are double matched by The Standard — to make large, transformative grants to select nonprofits each year. Since becoming a DIF partner, employees and retirees of The Standard have raised $750,000 for the nonprofit.
Transition Projects is the largest provider of publicly funded shelter services in Oregon, offering individuals in the Portland metro area the services, resources and tools they need to end homelessness, secure housing and maintain that housing. The organization assists more than 10,000 people each year by meeting basic needs, providing a safe place to sleep at night and placing people in affordable housing.
Dan McMillan, president and CEO, accepted the award on behalf of employees of The Standard. “It really is a team award because of how many people contributed from our company,” Dan said. “The Standard gives back to the communities in which we live and work and raise our families every year and every day.”
