Announcing Sue Schweitzer’s Retirement: Celebrating a Legacy of Leadership at The Standard

Sue Schweitzer

After an amazing 39-year career at The Standard, Sue Schweitzer, second vice president of IDI Underwriting, has retired.

Sue started her career with The Standard as an underwriting clerk. She continued her career with several roles in Employee Benefits Underwriting before transitioning to IDI in 2013.

During her time in IDI, Sue had a significant impact on the division, our employees, our customers and our distribution partners. We’ll miss Sue’s thoughtful leadership but are excited for her and her family’s next chapter. Sue has started her retirement with a long European vacation.

Since January 2024, the IDI Underwriting team has been reporting to Tony Fung, second vice president of IDI Underwriting and GSI. This change ensured a smooth transition as Sue prepared for retirement. The Underwriting department will continue under Tony’s leadership, with staff reporting to Linda Babcock, director of IDI Underwriting, and Mike Ash-Dollowitch, director and chief underwriter.

Please join us in thanking Sue for her many contributions to The Standard and wishing her happiness and adventure in retirement!
