EMQ and Increase Option eApp Now Available in New York

Effective Aug. 7, 2024, The Standard’s Electronic Medical Questionnaire, or EMQ, and Increase Option eApp are available in New York.

Applicants can use the EMQ to report their personal, employment, medical and other information. It’s available through The Standard’s eApp, our secure online application for applicants to complete at any time and place convenient for them. The EMQ is now available in all states except South Carolina.

eApply Discount Changes for New York With the Availability of EMQ

With EMQ now available in New York, the eApply Discount will no longer be available with the use of The Standard’s eApp and TeleApp. To receive the discount, you must use both The Standard’s eApp and EMQ for the case.

Transition Rules for Fully Underwritten Applications

  • Applications currently pending an underwriter decision
    • For applications signed by Sept. 6, 2024 and received by Oct. 6, 2024: The eApply Discount will be applied if The Standard’s eApp and TeleApp or EMQ have been used for the case.
    • For applications signed Sept. 7, 2024 and later: The eApply Discount will be applied only if both The Standard’s eApp and EMQ have been used for the case.
    • If a TeleApp was ordered for a case and the applicant would like to change to using the EMQ to reduce processing time, please contact your Policy Administration Specialist with questions.

Increase Option eApp

With Increase Option eApp, you and your clients can enjoy a simple application in a convenient online experience. Clients sign and submit the Increase Option eApp online. This makes processing times shorter than paper applications. The Increase Option eApp is now available in all states.

Application and Form Updates

In addition, there are a few updated Increase Option Applications and Forms now available online. We updated the applications for the states of New York and California. We’ve also updated the replacement forms for Increase Options for Colorado, Florida and Kentucky.

  • There will be a 30-day transition period in which you can receive either version of the form.
    • For applications signed by Sept. 6, 2024 and received by Oct. 6, 2024: Applications with either version of the form can be received.
    • For applications signed Sept. 7, 2024 and later: Applications must be submitted using the new version of the form or the application will be returned.
