As part of managing producer contracting and appointments, The Standard won't renew state appointments for producers who haven't submitted an application for more than 12 months in a state. If a producer without an appointment in a specific state submits an application, we’ll immediately reactivate the appointment in that state.

Existing GSI plans in six states plus Washington, D.C. will move to Platinum Advantage GSI for newly eligible employees. The change will be effective Dec. 1, 2018 in New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Washington, D.C.

After seeking feedback from MGAs, we’ve updated The Standard’s Rules of Engagement. We added acquisitions and mergers among producers to our Rules of Engagement. And we’ll no longer consider GSI additions new business when determining if a relationship is active.

The Student Loan Rider will no longer be just for physicians and dentists. Starting June 27, the rider will be available to any clients in occupation classes 5A, 5P, 4A, 4P, 4S, 3A, 3P or 3D.

Platinum Advantage is now available in New York and six other states! We updated Platinum Advantage marketing materials to reflect the few policy differences in the new states. And we created New York annotated sample policies for both the fully underwritten and GSI policies.

The Standard’s Illustration Software will remove new business and increase quotes from the system after three years and seven months. If you want to hold on to your illustrations for longer, be sure to save them outside of the software, such as on your company’s server.
