Big Brothers Big Sisters creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
What We Do
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Columbia Northwest is a private non-profit social change organization affiliated with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, an organization with more than 110 years of service to children facing adversity. Funded by local investment only, BBBS helps children realize their full potential and build their futures by providing dedicated one-to-one mentors to each child who comes through our door. We serve youth between six and 18-years old in the Greater Portland region including SW Washington.

Opportunities

- Virtual: Ongoing
Big Brothers Big Sisters' mentoring programs are more important than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic, as they are a lifeline of support for so many children right now. Over 85% of the children BBBS serves live at or below the federal poverty line and receive free or reduced lunch. The economic decline from the pandemic has hit these families hard and fast. Volunteer mentors and local investment will help BBBS to be here for kids across the Portland Metro area when they need it most.
