Literary Arts is a community-based nonprofit with a mission to engage readers, support writers, and inspire the next generation with great literature.
What We Do
Literary Arts provides 40,000 in-person arts experiences to 20,000 unique individuals annually and reaches an audience of 15,000 each week on the radio, serving Oregon readers, writers, and students of all ages and socio-economic standings. All of our programs are integrated and mutually reinforcing. A high school student may learn from a professional writer in their classroom, explore the book festival with their friends, attend a lecture by an award-winning author, or see their peers perform at Verselandia!, the city-wide youth poetry slam.
What We Need
- Mentoring/Youth Development
Opportunities
- Virtual: One-time
In a time when we cannot gather, we continue serving our community digitally by moving all programming online. We believe that literature and storytelling as art forms are inherently art forms of empathy. By continuing to offer diverse programming to our community we can bring together readers and writers of all ages and from many walks of life. By building these bridges and igniting conversations we are building a more engaged, inclusive, and strong community.
