What We Do
Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Wishes are usually in one of four categories: Meet, Go, Have, or Be and research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Since 1983, Make-A-Wish Oregon has granted the wishes of more than 5,200 children living in Oregon, and Clark County, Washington.

Our dedicated volunteers form the backbone of our mission, allowing us to reach every eligible child across our territory. These big-hearted volunteers are not merely boots on the ground; they are the champions who turn dreams into reality, working to create moments of magic and hope. The impact is profound and far-reaching — each wish they help grant provides a renewed sense of strength to face and even overcome their illnesses. Still, we know many kids in our community are waiting for their wishes to come true right now — we need more volunteers to help make the extraordinary possible.
