Multnomah County's Office of Community Involvement develops and maintains community involvement programs and facilitates direct communication between the community and the Board of Commissioners.
What We Do
Created by a vote of the people in 1984, the Office of Community Involvement was established by County Charter to develop community involvement programs and facilitate communication between the people of Multnomah County and the Board of County Commissioners. We are committed to helping inform and involve communities in the processes that shape county policies, budgets, and programs. We also connect community members with opportunities to volunteer with County departments.

Our office helps connect community members with opportunities to get involved with Multnomah County. The county's advisory boards and committees are a great way to learn about how the County works and give your input on issues impacting the community. If you're interested in more hands on volunteering, you can volunteer alongside our staff in County departments, helping to deliver critical programs and services. We're also looking for volunteers for Multnomah County's COVID-19 response, providing support in our Emergency Operations Center and temporary shelters. We'd love to talk to you about how to get involved with your local government!
