Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA) is a volunteer-driven, foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization whose mission is to improve the welfare and adopt-ability of shelter animals.
What We Do
OFOSA rescues “last chance” animals from overcrowded shelters, restores their health, and through adoption, finds them forever, loving homes. Since our beginning in 2002, we have saved almost 20,000 dogs and cats!
What We Need
- Caring for Animals
- Fundraising/Campaigning
Opportunities
- In person: Ongoing
OFOSA's capacity to save the lives of "last chance" animals is predicated on the number of foster homes we have. Our foster volunteers are vital to the fulfillment of our mission. They provide the critical step for dogs and cats moving from the shelter environment to a permanent loving home. By opening your heart and home to a shelter animal, you prevent needless euthanasia due to a lack of space in shelters. I hope you'll consider the rewarding job of being an OFOSA Foster!
