Path Home's mission is to empower homeless families with children to get back into housing — and stay there.
What We Do
Path Home operates four main programs:
- Homeless Prevention — Families who are about to lose their housing get to keep their housing and never experience homelessness in the first place.
- Family Village Shelter — An emergency shelter for up to 17 families with children at a time (60-80 people). Family Village is the first shelter of its kind in Oregon designed using trauma-informed design and architecture, which aims to build dignity, restore power, and promote autonomy.
- Housing First — Families experiencing homelessness move back into housing as quickly as possible and receive case management and financial support to keep their housing. 88% of families keep housing long term.
- Economic Empowerment — Worldwide research shows that the fastest way to end poverty for people is by giving cash and letting them manage their household expenses. Path Home is engaging in a cash transfer pilot project where families receive $575 cash once a month for two years.

At Path Home, we believe housing is a basic human right, and we are proud to help families get and keep housing. Our Family Village campus, the first shelter of its kind in Oregon featuring trauma-informed design and architecture, helps families heal from the trauma of homelessness by building dignity, restoring power, and promoting autonomy. In the 2024-2025 fiscal year, we served over 600 families across our Prevention, Shelter, Housing, and Economic Empowerment programs. 98% of families in shelter moved into housing, and 93% stayed in their housing long term.
