Second Home hosts provide safe and stable housing for unaccompanied students experiencing homelessness, allowing them to focus on completing their secondary education and discover and realize their gifts and potential.
What We Do
Second Home, a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, serves students in the school districts of Washington, Clackamas, East Multnomah and Lincoln Counties. Our program is a ground-breaking way a community can personally respond to the issue of youth homelessness. In partnership with our volunteer home providers, we support young people who want to finish their secondary education. Stable housing and the presence of caring adults help students gain a solid foundation for their future. The relationships formed are often transformational for both student and home provider.

Second Home is a community effort to provide safe and stable, long-term housing for unaccompanied high school students in our local neighborhoods, so that they can focus on school, graduate and launch into their dreams and goals for the future. If you would like to invest in the life of a teenager and support their journey to health and stability, please contact us. It's an investment that lasts generations and a gift that results in a win for all involved.
