Special Olympics Oregon uses sports training and competition to grow acceptance and inclusion of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
What We Do
Special Olympics Oregon is committed to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities both on and off the playing field. By working to remove obstacles, change attitudes and open minds, we provide opportunities for our athletes to demonstrate courage, experience joy and share their gifts, skills and friendship. We serve our unique constituency – every day, every week, and every month – in 30 Oregon communities across the state. Through the contagion of greatness, all – with and without disability – are inspired to achieve.

Opportunities
- Virtual: Ongoing
I am ready to get back to high fives, fist bumps, and in-person smiles! We thrive on social interaction and breaking down barriers versus adding more. While we wait to get back to our traditional sports training and competition, we have created virtual fitness, sport, e-sports and wellness options. We are expanding our at-home programs so athletes and Unified Partners will be able to engage in challenge, competition, and socialization. We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to our wonderful and dedicated volunteers who live in the hometowns of the athletes and are committed to their well-being.
