Patience Pays Off for This GSI Case
A global consulting firm recently added The Standard’s GSI Individual Disability Insurance to its disability plan. This stood out because it was more than two years after the broker talked to their HR team about the value of increased coverage for top earners. At the time, the company purchased The Standard’s LTD, but decided to forgo GSI. But the seed had been planted.
More than a year later, the company acquired a competitor that provided GSI to their highly compensated employees. The firm didn’t want to reduce benefits for these new employees. Remembering The Standard’s offer, the firm switched GSI from the existing carrier to The Standard. The firm also expanded coverage to all partners in the company. By adding The Standard’s GSI to their existing group LTD plan, they received a larger discount on both coverage lines.
