CEI Reflects Our Commitment to LGBTQ Equality

Every year, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation recognizes the nation’s top workplaces for LGBTQ equality. For the sixth year in a row, The Standard received a perfect score on the foundation’s Corporate Equality Index.

The CEI reflects an organization’s policies and practices related to LGBTQ equality in the workplace. The Human Rights Campaign has measured workplace progress for lesbian, gay, transgender and queer people for nearly two decades.

The index rates employers in four categories:

• Non-discrimination policies across business entities
• Equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families
• Supporting an inclusive culture
• Corporate social responsibility

“Fostering an environment that prioritizes people, integrity and outstanding customer service starts with ensuring that every employee — at all levels of our organization — feels they have the freedom to be fully who they are,” said Susan Bruechner, vice president of human resources at The Standard. “We value employees for the unique life experiences and perspectives they contribute to our culture.”
